Jaden Smith Teases New Snapchat Series On Voting & Racial Justice

Jaden Smith and Snapchat are joining forces to urge young people to vote!

The rapper will host a new show with the social platform called The Solution Committee, which finds Smith engaging celebrity friends and activists alike on our nation’s most pressing issues, from voting to racial justice.

The show’s motto is clear: “We are the only ones who can save us.” To get viewers excited about the series, Snapchat unveiled a one-minute trailer for the series. (Watch it above.)

“Historically, people between the ages of 18 to 23 have been less likely to vote,” Jaden expressed in a statement. “This is because a lot of young people feel like they don’t have the information or know where to get it. This show is about educating the youth and making sure they feel empowered and ready to vote.”

Westbrook Media — launched by Jaden’s parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith — produces the unscripted political series, premiering exclusively on Snapchat on September 21. Among the celebrity guests slated to appear on the show include Hailey Baldwin, Willow (Jadens’ sister), Common, Janelle Monáe, Phoebe Robinson, Lena Waithe, Bella Hadid, and Yara Shahidi.

What’s more, following each episode, Snapchat users can use a swipe-up feature that will direct them to register to vote.

The first two episodes center on “How to Vote” and “The Power of Your Vote,” with Bieber and Shahidi joining Jaden in discussion with Wake Up To Politics founder Gabe Fleisher and Women’s March Youth Empower national student leader Winter BreeAnne.
