What a great honor and really confirming something that I've said for years . . . the only thing I'm questioning is why we were not higher on the list! I encourage everyone to read the full report at livability.com but here's some of my favorite highlights: Editor-In-Chief Winona Dimeo-Edgar says that the list this year is not just filled with great places for the students-it's for everyone in the community! "From job opportunities to weekend activities to beloved campus traditions, these are places that offer something special for residents at every stage of life, where students can settle down and build a life after graduation, and alumni from all over the world keep coming back."
This is what I've been talking about! And this is just another reason why having a strong education system-and a great educational institution like UAF-is so important for Fairbanks and our entire state. You should be wary of anyone who suggests otherwise! Please read the entire story, and take the time to appreciate what we have here! Fairbanks ranked number 4 on the list, behind Ames, Iowa, Manhattan, Kansas and Ithaca, New York at number 1.
