You're out with your friends and you notice someone that you think is reallllllllly cute but your nerves are getting the best of you and you don't know how to approach them. That's OK here are some tips to help you get over that shyness:
Don't be afraid of the word no
I think it's safe to say that everyone in some way is afraid of rejection.Try not to get all stressed out by the thought of someone saying ‘no’ to your advances. Just think of it this way; you’re no worse off than you were before, right?
Smile and introduce yourself
Confidence is key and a smile will go a long way. Smiling often makes striking up a conversation easier!
Find some common ground
It is often easier to have a conversation with someone if you find out you have something in common. It could be as simple as something that is right in front of you or maybe an event you are both attending.
Begin with small talk
Try chatting about something mundane, but not utterly boring: the weather, a current event, or a movie that recently came out.
Have a valid question in mind
Posing a simple question about something random can be a great ice-breaker. Some examples: ‘Are you from the local area?’ or ‘Do you and your friends hang out here regularly?’.
