#MOVING: Thinking of a move? This town offers CASH and FREE GRANDPARENTS!

Thanks to FATHERLY for this story this afternoon...

A small town in Indiana is trying to lure new families there with an interesting offer. Greensburg, a tiny place that’s less than 10-square miles and has a population of around 12-thousand, hopes to attract families who are ready to leave city life behind for suburban bliss. And they’re hoping thousands of dollars and built-in babysitters will entice potential movers.

With so many people working remotely these days, people are leaving cities in favor of small-town life. And with so many quaint places to choose from, some towns are offering perks to movers to make them more inviting. In the case of Greensburg, those perks include:

●A $5-thousand bonus to cover moving expenses

●Another $2-thousand in the form of gift cards to local businesses

●A yearlong membership to the local co-working space and the YMCA

●And “Grandparents on Demand”

GRANDPARENTS ON DEMAND. FREE MONEY. Oh... and a FREE MEMBERSHIP TO THE YMCA!?!?

Greensburg officials explain that “Grandparents on Demand” is a service that pairs new arrivals with local senior citizens who want to babysit for kids and will act as stand-ins for something called Grandparents Day at school. It’s unclear exactly how it’ll work, but some older town residents have shared their enthusiasm for the program, including Tami Wenning, who says,“I am willing to be a grandma for anyone’s child who needs that person in their life.”

●Sound like something you’d be interested in? To get the incentives, you have to move in the next six to 12 months and either work remotely or be self-employed outside the city.
