Salinas Valley is currently dealing a new E. Coli contamination outbreak, this time it's linked to packaged salads. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the latest outbreak has made 8 people sick in the upper Midwest states and made 16 people sick in Canada. This outbreak involves a different E. Coli strain than the previous illnesses that was announced before Thanksgiving. However, it's all from lettuce from California's Salinas Valley.
It has been noted that Fresh Express Sunflower Crisp salads is the likely source of contamination. If you have this salad mix with a best before date of December 7 and the UPC number of 0 71279 30906 4" and Lot Code “Z” located int he top right corner, you need to throw this away immediately. \
